ALBAWABA - During a NATO meeting in Brussels, German Defense Minister, Boris Pistorius, announced that a military aid package worth $500 million will be sent to Ukraine. The aid, which comes in the shape of $300 million through the PURL (Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List) fund, which gives Ukraine access to American weapon systems; and $200 million for the purchase of PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot missile system. This marks the third time that Germany joins the PURL fund, highlighting their commitment to Ukraine in its defensive war; With the help of PURL we fund American weapons systems and munitions that Ukraine urgently needs, which can be delivered sooner and which are not manufactured in Europe. In this case, we are primarily talking again about such extremely necessary munitions for air defense systems. Thanks to this we literally save lives night and day. This time our contribution will amount to 300 million dollars– Boris Pistorius, German Minister of DefenseThis handout photograph taken and released by the Ukrainian Presidential Press Service on May 11, 2026 shows Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky (L) and Germany's Defence Minister Boris Pistorius shaking hands during their meeting in Kyiv, amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
