ONE man was killed while two others sustained serious injuries following a shooting in Diego Martin on Tuesday night.Police said just after 8 p.m. Kadeem Mason, 25, of Cicada Drive, Diego Martin, and two others, Anthony Bonaparte, 20, and Jahiem Fredericks, 23, were liming in front of Mason’s home when a white Nissan AD Wagon stopped near to where they were. Two gunmen got out of the car and opened fire on the three men.Mason was struck in the head and abdomen. He ran a short distance and collapsed.Bonaparte, who was shot in the right leg, and Fredericks, who was grazed on the left foot, both ran off when the shooting started. However, when they thought the gunmen had left, they returned to the scene where they found Mason on the road.They picked him up, placed him in a car, and took him to the St James Medical Centre, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.Bonaparte was treated for his gunshot injury and then transferred to the Port of Spain General Hospital; while Fredericks was treated at St James and discharged.The murder toll stood at 204 up to last night. The comparative figure for the same period last year was 214.
