Getting ready for the Sari Stroll on August 2 are, Luvi Chetty, Rani Govender, Akashni Pillay, Cookie Moodley, Vijay Govender and Jean Naidoo.

EVERYWHERE on the planet, the gorgeous sari grabs attention. Whether the finest Kanjipuram silk or just plain handloom cotton, it declares class and culture.

In a striking display of cultural confidence and social cohesion, parliamentarian Happy Khuzwayo assumed a stylish and compelling posture in a stunning sari as she presented herself to His Majesty, King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, at the 2016 opening of the KwaZulu-Natal legislature.

“Traditional wear is catching on... This is social cohesion in action,” crooned her similarly attired colleague, Shameen Thakur Rajbansi, as they posed together for the media.
