THE Hindasa Foundation, led by Pradeep Ramlal, has singled out the POST newspaper for a vitriolic attack in a public statement widely published on social media platforms. This is both strange and unjust.

Hindasa’s statement makes sweeping references to “journalists” and “the media” being allegedly “biased” in their reporting on former president Jacob Zuma’s visit to India, his meeting with fugitive Ajay Gupta, and his being hosted by Ambassador Anil Sooklal.

Yet, despite these broad accusations, the POST and its holding company, Independent Media, have been targeted by name, for allegedly being “biased”, even though this newspaper carried Hindasa’s full statement on the Zuma matter in last week’s edition.

The latest unsigned Hindasa statement criticises “NGOs and Political Actors” for being selective in their commentary on political scandals.
