The BBC has confirmed it will broadcast the final two matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup live, including a semi-final featuring England against Argentina on July 15 and the tournament final on July 19. But the more interesting storyline for crypto watchers is happening off the pitch: Kraken has been named the Official Crypto Exchange Supporter of the entire tournament.
What the BBC deal actually covers
The UK broadcaster will air 54 live matches across BBC One and iPlayer during the 2026 World Cup, all available in UHD. The crown jewels of that package are the England vs. Argentina semi-final and the final at New York New Jersey Stadium.
This arrangement is part of a broader partnership between the BBC and ITV that covers free-to-air rights for both the 2026 and 2030 World Cups. Those rights were locked down back in December 2024.
The 2026 edition is the largest World Cup ever staged, featuring 48 teams playing 104 matches across three host nations: Canada, Mexico, and the USA.
