Simla, July 15: In pursuance of the Lee Recommendations, the Government of India with the approval of the Secretary of State, have framed a scheme for the recruitment and the training of officers for the three main departments of railways:—(1) Transportation (Traffic) and commercial, (2) Civil Engineering and (3) Mechanical Engineering and transportation (power). The object of the schemes is to see that recruitment in India is advanced, as soon as practicable, up to 75 per cent of the total number of vacancies in the superior railway services.
