Ukraine and nine partner countries adopted the Kyiv Declaration following the fifth Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit.
The text of the declaration was published on the website of the President of Ukraine, Ukrinform reports.
"Building upon the outcomes of our previous meetings in Athens, Tirana, Dubrovnik and Odesa, we reaffirm the Ukraine–Southeast Europe Summit as an important framework for political dialogue, regional cooperation and shared security. Meeting in Kyiv on the Day of Ukrainian Statehood carries symbolic significance, as it affirms the continuity of more than a thousand years of Ukrainian statehood," the Declaration states.
The document reaffirms the resilience, strength, and courage of the Ukrainian people in defending their national identity, future, and freedom against Russian aggression since 2014. It also states that there can be no lasting peace, security, stability, or prosperity in Europe without a sovereign and independent Ukraine.
The Declaration condemns Russia's illegal, unprovoked, and unjustified armed aggression against Ukraine and calls on Moscow to immediately end the war, return all illegally deported and forcibly displaced Ukrainian citizens, including Ukrainian children, and release all unlawfully detained civilians and prisoners of war.
