The Yuvaraja Foundation was launched here on Wednesday (July 15, 2026) with the presentation of awards and educational kits to 60 students from 20 government schools who secured the first and second ranks in the Class 10 and Class 12 public examinations.The event, held at Thindal, coincided with the 124th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj.M. Yuvaraja, founder-president of the foundation, presided over the function. S.D. Chandrasekar, Secretary and Correspondent of Vellalar Educational Institutions, social worker K. Yuvaraja, former president of the Lions Club, and others participated.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yuvaraja said the foundation had been established as a non-political charitable organisation after 25 years of public service through political activities. It had begun operations in Chennai, Erode, Tiruppur and Coimbatore and would focus on providing educational and medical assistance to students.As its inaugural initiative, the foundation honoured meritorious students from government schools in Erode district. It also plans to organise awareness programmes on drug abuse among students and undertake other community welfare initiatives. Mr. Yuvaraja said the foundation’s primary objective was to support students through educational and healthcare assistance and improve their access to opportunities.
