A higher education guidance programme for students from government higher secondary schools in the hilly areas of Thalavadi union was conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Thalavadi, on Tuesday (May 19, 2026).Organised by the School Education Department, the programme featured Chief Educational Officer E. Manvizhi, who explained the importance of pursuing higher education in shaping students’ careers and lives. She urged students to continue their education to secure a bright future. The programme aimed at ensuring 100% enrolment in higher education among students who completed Class XII in government schools in the region, she said.District Higher Education Guidance Counsellor A. Anbarasu guided students on selecting courses and colleges in streams such as engineering, arts and science, law, agriculture, paramedical sciences, ITI and polytechnic education. He also explained the employment opportunities available in various disciplines, the 7.5% reservation scheme, and educational loan facilities.As many as 87 students from the schools at Thalavadi, Panahalli and Mallanguli participated in the programme.
