Movado Group is adding another fashion name to its licensed watch portfolio, signing a global agreement to design, manufacture and distribute timepieces for Kate Spade New York.
The partnership, which took effect July 1, arrives as watches are once again gaining traction as a fashion purchase. The first collection will launch in spring 2027, priced from $148 to $298.
“There is a resurgence happening within the watch category currently, largely driven by women and the Gen Z consumer,” Allison Robbins, president of licensed brands and commercial at Movado Group, told WWD. “Kate Spade caters to this group with its feminine aesthetic and spirited personality.”
Movado has distilled Kate Spade’s joyful visual language onto the relatively compact canvas of a watch with spade hearts, spade flowers and scalloped edges that surface across dials, crowns and bracelets, while leather straps will draw on the brand’s accessories heritage.
The assortment spans oval, rectangular, round and square cases, enlivened with mother-of-pearl dials, crystal markers, metallic accents, prints and textured finishes. The details are intended to give familiar watch shapes the same offbeat polish that has long defined Kate Spade’s handbags and accessories.
