The Visakhapatnam chapter of the Confederation of Real Estate Developers’ Associations of India (CREDAI), in association with the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) and the Visakha Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), organised a plantation drive at the VIMS Hospital campus on Wednesday to mark World Green Day. Over 500 saplings were planted across the campus under the theme 'Trees for Life.'GVMC Additional Commissioner (Public Health) P. Nallanayya, inaugurated the programme by planting the first sapling. Speaking at the event, the Commissioner emphasised on the importance of collective action in expanding the city’s green cover and fostering environmental sustainability. Mr. Nallanayya noted that the initiative aligned with the broader objective of developing net-zero healthcare campuses in the city.VIMS director Dr. Manmadha Rao, who participated in the drive, lauded the collaboration, noting that the initiative would contribute to a healthier and more serene environment for patients, visitors, and hospital staff.The drive included the planting of a variety of fruit-bearing and shade-giving saplings along the hospital’s road dividers and near the administrative block, aimed at promoting local biodiversity.CREDAI Andhra Pradesh president Bayana Srinivasa Rao, CREDAI Visakhapatnam chapter chairman V.
