President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen signed a Letter of Intent on Strategic Industrial Partnership.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, the signing took place at the Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv.

"We have done a great deal, in my view, to integrate our defense capabilities and production with those of Europe. And it is now absolutely clear that the Ukrainian military and Ukraine's defense industry are an integral part of the defense of the whole of Europe. Today, there is also the first document that will become the foundation of the Drone Deal – a major defense agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. This is a historic step in our relations," Zelensky said, commenting on the signed document.

He noted that Ukraine now expects financial support from the EU for the anti-ballistic program launched on July 13 in France.
