Zelenskyy will award her the ‘Order of Europe’ for supporting Ukraine

KYIV – The EU and Ukraine will ink a multi-billion euro agreement to scale up the production of drones on Wednesday.

Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission president, will sign the drone business deal with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Ukrainian leader, having arrived in Kyiv earlier in the morning to take part in celebrations of Ukraine’s national day.

“Ukraine has built a strong military momentum. The tide is turning,” von der Leyen posted on X as she stepped off the train in Ukraine’s capital..

The pair will ink a defence industrial partnership, aiming to create a more joined-up business environment for drones to be manufactured by 18 European and Ukrainian companies inside the EU, primarily in eastern member states.
