A drug activist popularly known as Mr Moloto faces charges after setting fire to ex-lover's rehab centre.

Businessman and owner of the Limpopo Anti-Drug Gangsterism and Crime (LADGAC) Rehabilitation Centre, Tsebe Phillimon Moloto, previously made headlines for his drug intervention tactics, even making appearances on South African TV shows.

He has been featured on Moja Love channels offering interventions and aid to families struggling with substance abuse.

Earlier this year, Mr Moloto, as he is popularly known, appeared on SABC 1's "Skeem Saam" when the family of a character, Clement, called him in to assist with their son, who was unwilling to go to rehab.

On the episode, Mr Moloto and his team drag Clement to rehab after he refuses. In a social media video posted around the time of the airing of the episode, Mr Moloto said: "The episodes that Clement does on 'Skeem Saam', it is actually happening in real life out there.
