Rouser Lab is building an “indestructible, self-powered” monolithic doomsday tracker in Australia, for future generations – designed to document humanity’s spiral into environmental destruction.
Graphic explains what the EBB monolith is.
After five years of development, Australian non-profit Rouser Lab is building “Earth’s Black Box” (EBB) – an “indestructible”, solar-powered monolith scheduled for installation in remote western Tasmania by December 2026.
Designed to survive any natural disaster or attack, this internet-connected steel vault will continuously download and store planetary health data from scientific agencies around the world.
Its primary mission is to raise immediate awareness about climate change, while providing future generations with an unbiased, permanent record of humanity’s environmental mistakes so they can avoid repeating them.
