A study centre and library established by Sathyamangalam-based non-governmental organisation, Rights Education and Development Centre (READ), were inaugurated at Pudukadu, a tribal hamlet in Hasanur panchayat within the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve in Thalavadi taluk, on Wednesday (July 15, 2026).The facility, expected to benefit about 30 tribal families, is part of READ’s efforts to promote education and community development in remote tribal villages.Inaugurating the centre, Hasanur Forest Ranger Anand Kumar said that besides providing students with a dedicated space for learning, the facility would also serve as a venue for village meetings, training programmes, awareness campaigns and the implementation of welfare initiatives. Students could attend after-school study sessions and make use of educational books and children’s literature available at the library. This would improve their reading habits, general knowledge and self-confidence while encouraging greater interest in education.READ Director R. Karuppasamy said the organisation would continue its efforts to support the educational and socio-economic development of tribal communities in the region.Around 138 tribal residents, including members of the village development committee, women’s self-help groups and youth, attended the event.
