A tribal student from Government Tribal Higher Secondary School, Hasanur, being felicitated in Erode district on Sunday.
Eighteen tribal students from Government Tribal Higher Secondary School, Hasanur, who secured admission to the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel Management (IITTM-Noida) were felicitated at a function held in Hasanur on Sunday.The programme was organised by the Sathyamangalam-based non-governmental organisation Rights Education and Development Centre (READ), in association with Keystone.READ project officer Sivaraj welcomed the gathering, while READ director R. Karuppasamy and Keystone project coordinator Madesh felicitated the students and distributed educational materials to support their higher studies.Head Constable Raghupathi and Constable Manivasanagan of the Hasanur police station and Damodharan, a teacher at the school, participated as special guests. They congratulated the students and encouraged them to excel in their academic pursuits.The speakers said the admission of the tribal students to premier higher educational institutions was an important step towards social advancement and educational development.
