Tehran Prosecutor Ali Salehi announced the establishment of special branches within the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office to process cases related to the December 2025 protests and the 12-day and 40-day conflicts, confirming that death and prison sentences against detainees are actively being carried out.

According to the Mehr News Agency, Salehi spoke on Tuesday evening on the sidelines of an event in Tehran about the legal status of individuals detained during the 12-day conflict. He stated that special branches had been formed within the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office to handle cases linked to the 12-day war and the third imposed war.

He added that, in cooperation with judicial officers and court staff, the cases filed with the Tehran Prosecutor’s Office had been finalised and forwarded to the courts for sentencing.

The Tehran prosecutor further noted that, under directives from the head of the judiciary and the chief justice of Tehran Province, the processing of these cases in the courts was carried out with speed and precision. He confirmed that a portion of these cases had already resulted in the issuance and enforcement of final rulings, including death sentences and other binding verdicts.
