The Islamic Republic’s judiciary announced the execution of Mohammad Amini Dehaqani, a protester detained during the December 2025 demonstrations. Judicial authorities accused him of setting fire to the governorate building and the central police station in Dehaqan, Isfahan Province. No information regarding his arrest, interrogation, or court proceedings had been made public prior to his execution.

According to a statement published by Mizan News Agency, the official media outlet of the judiciary, Amini Dehaqani’s death sentence was carried out early this morning, July 15, following confirmation by the Supreme Court.

The statement claims that on January 9, Amini Dehaqani threw a Molotov cocktail at the Dehaqan governorate building, causing a fire, and subsequently threw another at the local police station. Authorities also alleged that he incited protesters to attack the police station.

The judiciary based the bulk of its case on the defendant’s confessions. The official notice claims that during interrogations, he admitted to throwing the Molotov cocktails and stated that he intended to use a Kalashnikov rifle, which security officials allege had been taken from law enforcement officers. Amini Dehaqani was additionally charged with “reposting and sending promotional content against the Islamic Republic, disturbing public opinion, and disrupting the psychological security of society.”
