R50,000 reward offered as police hunt killers of Ghanaian national in Nyanga extortion murder.
Western Cape police have offered a cash reward of up to R50,000 for information that could lead to the arrest and conviction of suspects responsible for the murder of a Ghanaian national who was killed last month, allegedly in connection with his refusal to pay a protection fee in Nyanga.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), 35-year-old Bashira Issaka, a Ghanaian national, was shot and killed inside his red container business premises on June 29, 2026, at about 3.45pm.
Police spokesperson Thembakazi Mpendukana said the suspects allegedly entered the business and demanded a protection fee before fatally shooting Issaka.
Police said investigators are pursuing all possible leads to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.
