Missing Pavlikeni businessman Dimitar Georgiev has returned home after nearly a week without contact, appearing unharmed late on Monday evening, police confirmed.
The manager of a bakery in Pavlikeni arrived at his home at around 10:50 p.m. after being declared wanted. Authorities have not yet provided official details about where he had been during the six days he was missing or why he decided to disappear.
According to neighbors quoted by bTV, Georgiev appeared covered in mud and dirt but was in generally good health. He reportedly told investigators that he had been “on a walk” and survived by eating wild fruits while staying away from populated areas. He did not provide a clear explanation for why he chose to spend more than a week alone.
The 54-year-old businessman disappeared on July 9 after relatives reported that they had been unable to reach him for several hours. His vehicle was found parked near the bakery he manages, and his trail was lost from that location. Security cameras reportedly showed him leaving the area on foot toward a wooded region.
The search operation involved more than 100 people, including police officers, gendarmes, volunteers, drones, and divers who searched difficult terrain in an effort to locate him.
