Tržnica Nivy increased sales to €4.8 million in 2025, but the company has never reported a profit.
Bratislava’s rooftop market at the Nivy shopping centre has attracted customers since opening in 2021, but the company behind the project has yet to turn growing sales into a profitable business.
Tržnica Nivy, which operates the market space on the top floor of the Nivy complex, reported revenue of €4.8 million in 2025. That marks a sharp increase from its first year of operation, when sales reached €375,000, according to Index.
Despite revenue growth, the company has never reported a profit during its existence. Between 2019 and 2024, Tržnica Nivy accumulated losses of €1.9 million. In 2025, the company recorded its largest annual loss so far, ending the year almost €1.5 million in the red.
The losses contributed to the company’s negative equity, which stood at more than €760,000 at the end of 2025. Under Slovak law, a company with such a financial position may be classified as being in crisis.
