A court filing made public on Tuesday showed that Carroll received the payment, which covered the original $5million damages awarded by a federal jury in May 2023, along with post-judgment interest that accumulated over the past three years.

United States President, Donald Trump, has paid more than $5.6million to writer E. Jean Carroll after a United States federal court ordered the release of funds following the conclusion of his appeal in a civil case that found him liable for sexual abuse and defamation.

A court filing made public on Tuesday showed that Carroll received the payment, which covered the original $5million damages awarded by a federal jury in May 2023, along with post-judgment interest that accumulated over the past three years.

According to the CNBC quoting a notice on the online docket in Carroll's case against Trump in the U.S. District Court in lower Manhattan, a total of $5,625,005.48 was disbursed to the law firm representing Carroll on July 9.

A person close to Carroll also confirmed that the money had been transferred to the writer.
