A prosecution witness in the ongoing trial of former Taraba State Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku for alleged N27billion fraud on Tuesday told the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja how several local government councils allegedly transferred millions of naira into his company's account for the purchase and distribution of Christmas grains.
The witness, Taiwo Johns, who testified as the third prosecution witness (PW3), appeared before Justice S.C. Oriji in the trial involving Ishaku and the former Permanent Secretary in the Taraba State Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bello Yero.
Johns told the court that the transfers into the account of his company, P3 Cornerstone Nigeria Limited, were carried out based on directives allegedly issued by Yero, the bureau's Director of Finance, Babangida Hassan, and the Chief Cashier, John Columba.
According to him, every transaction executed through the company's account was done under instructions from his superiors.
