Council for the Built Environment, Nazareth Baptist Church to probe structural collapse

While the Council for the Built Environment (CBE) will be investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse at the Nazareth Baptist Church (Ebuhleni) in Inanda on Monday, the church will conduct its own internal investigation.

This was revealed on Tuesday when Public Works and Infrastructure Minister Dean Macpherson, accompanied by CBE Chief Executive Officer Dr Msizi Myeza and Public Works regional office officials.

The church’s Reverend Mbongwa Nzama said they did not know what happened.

“We are going to institute our own inquiry so that we will know what has happened. We do not have ​a report yet, but we will conduct an internal report,” Nzama said.
