The Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday commissioned projects on the campus of the University of Ilesa, saying he has fulfilled his pledge to make the university a reality.
Speaking at the commissioning of five projects that include a remodelled Faculty of Law annex building, a remodelled Faculty of Public Health building, a reconstructed internal road network, new hostel buildings, a female medical hostel and a Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences building, Adeleke said the university has, within a short period, recorded an unprecedented growth.
He recalled how his government laid a strong foundation for the university by enacting the law establishing the institution, providing a framework for its governance, and securing accreditation for many courses.
The governor said, “To our royal fathers and the entire Ijesa sons and daughters, I have fulfilled my pledge to make this University a reality. Your dream, our dream, is a reality that nobody can play politics with.
“From an audio pronouncement by the previous administration, our government enacted a state law establishing the university, providing a framework for its governance. We secured accreditation for several courses.
