OpenAI hasn’t been sitting around waiting. GPT-5.6 dropped recently with benchmarks that OpenAI claims demonstrate superiority over Claude Fable 5 in coding tasks and computational efficiency. The company has been vocal about its cost and speed advantages, essentially daring Anthropic to respond.
Unverified reports circulating in AI development communities reference a model codenamed “Honeycomb” that may preview Opus 5 capabilities. The rumored highlight: a context window of up to 1 million tokens.
