Bournemouth has completed a deal worth up to £25.7 million for 21-year-old forward Alvaro Rodriguez from Spanish side Elche, with the young Spaniard signing a five-year contract through 2031.
The initial fee sits at £21.4 million, with performance-related add-ons potentially pushing the total to that £25.7 million ceiling.
The details of the deal
Rodriguez arrives as competition for Evanilson, Bournemouth’s current first-choice striker. The 21-year-old tallied 7 goals and 5 assists across 34 La Liga appearances last season.
Real Madrid, who developed Rodriguez through their academy before selling him to Elche, inserted a 50% sell-on clause into that original transfer. That means Los Blancos stand to pocket roughly half of whatever Bournemouth is paying.
