AFC Bournemouth is on the verge of completing a €30 million move for striker Álvaro Rodríguez from Elche CF. The 21-year-old former Real Madrid academy product is expected to sign a five-year contract at the Vitality Stadium, tying him to the south coast club until 2031.
The fee breaks down into a €25 million fixed payment and an additional €5 million in performance-related add-ons.
The Real Madrid connection
Rodríguez came through Real Madrid’s Castilla academy system before being sold to Elche in 2025. Real Madrid retained a 50% sell-on clause when they let Rodríguez go. That means Los Blancos stand to collect roughly €12.5 million from Bournemouth’s purchase. Once the transfer completes, the Spanish giants will no longer hold any rights over the player.
