A 35-year-old male suspect was arrested for the illegal possession of three prohibited home-made firearms and three live shells.
The operation by South African Police Service (SAPS) Port St John's Crime Intelligence members and the Lusikisiki-based OR Tambo District Task Team led to the arrest of the suspect in Magoba locality on Tuesday.
“The operation started in Ntabankulu under Alfred Nzo District and ended up in Lusikisiki (OR Tambo) where identified suspects were nabbed", Captain Welile Matyolo said.
Captain Matyolo added that the male suspect from Lusikisiki was promptly arrested following the recovery of a handgun, two shotguns, and three live shells from his possession.
