On Tuesday, a pair of Polish fighter jets on duty intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft over the Baltic Sea.

This was announced on Tuesday during a press conference in Warsaw by Władysław Marcin Kosiniak-Kamysz, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense.

According to him, the incident occurred on Tuesday after noon near the Polish city of Ustka on the Baltic Sea coast.

“Today, after 12:00 p.m., over the Baltic Sea, approximately 30 kilometers from Ustka, a pair of Polish fighter jets on duty intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft,” Kosiniak-Kamysz stated.

He added that after receiving the appropriate warning signal, the Russian aircraft flew back toward Russia.
