Mr Falconio, 28, was murdered and his girlfriend Joanne Lees assaulted by Bradley John Murdoch on a remote Australian highway on 14 July 2001. Murdoch was convicted in 2005 and sentenced to life imprisonment, but died in prison in 2025 without revealing the location of Mr Falconio's body. A reward of up to AU$500,000 (£260,000) is being offered for information leading to the discovery of Mr Falconio's remains. Northern Territory Police are committed to exhausting every possibility to bring closure to Mr Falconio's family and Ms Lees.
