U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday, during an interview with political analyst and host Hugh Hewitt, that the United States military has targeted and will destroy the “Kuh-e Kolang” site, also known as Kolang Gaz La, in Iran.
“We have intelligence dominance over Iran’s nuclear facilities through our special forces and all other resources, and we are monitoring them extensively,” he said. “Kuh-e Kolang is one of the probable targets - a target where a massive, powerful strike can be delivered directly at its entrance. I think you might see something like that.”
Trump also threatened the Islamic Republic with further attacks, saying: “We’re going to hit them very hard tonight, and we’re going to hit them hard tomorrow, and there’s not a damn thing they can do about it. They have nothing, other than big mouths… I have come to know them, and they are truly crazy.”
Previously, the news outlet Ynet published satellite imagery indicating that the underground site known as “Kuh-e Kolang” in the Zagros Mountains remains active. According to the report, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is barred from inspecting the site, and its continued operation has cast doubt on Tehran’s compliance with the recent memorandum of understanding on refraining from developing nuclear weapons.
