U.S. President Donald Trump, speaking during a meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday, July 21, stated that the Islamic Republic is “desperately” seeking negotiations to end the war. He warned that the United States would soon launch a major strike targeting “Mount Kolang Gazla” near Natanz.
Responding to a reporter who remarked that there were no signs that the Islamic Republic was ready to stop the war, Trump said: “How do you know there are no signs? Do you know something I don’t?”
After the reporter noted that the Islamic Republic continued to attack U.S. allies and cause American casualties, Trump dismissed the outlet as “fake news,” saying: “You don’t know anything.”
The U.S. President also claimed that the Islamic Republic’s military capability had been weakened “more than anyone could have imagined.”
“We have really severely reduced their capacity,” Trump said. “They managed to get something through Jordan, but if there had been more operational forces there, that probably wouldn’t have happened. We have the finest military equipment in the world, and we’ve stopped almost everything.”
