The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) claims it has not record of of any criminal complaint against Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane.
The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC) says it is unaware of any criminal complaint regarding Acting National Police Commissioner Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, despite the Hawks and Public Interest confirming the file was sent to the anti-corruption unit.
Public Interest, a civil society group that advocates for social justice, human rights, ethical governance and the protection of vulnerable communities, lodged criminal complaint with the Hawks against Dimpane last week, alleging violations of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) related to the controversial R360 million Medicare Tshwane contract.
The organisation alleged that Dimpane, who was the SAPS Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at the time, may have failed to fulfil her statutory financial management responsibilities after about R48m was paid to the service provider before an internal review into procurement concerns had been concluded.
On Sunday, the Hawks said the complaint has been submitted to IDAC for further consideration, as the matter is currently handled by the anti-corruption unit.
