SINGAPORE: The Land Transport Authority's bus Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) system was temporarily unavailable on the MyTransport.SG app and at bus interchanges on Tuesday morning (Jul 14). Commuters were alerted to the disruption at 6.15am, with a notification on the app attributing it to "technical issues"."However, bus services are operating as normal," the notification stated. The system's display services were back to normal at 7.50am, said the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
In response to CNA queries, LTA said on Wednesday that it detected an outage in bus arrival timing displays at bus interchanges and on the MyTransport app. "Correct bus arrival timings remained available through some third-party apps including SimplyGo, SGBuses, and SG Next Bus, and at bus stop displays," it added.LTA is investigating the cause of the outage to the MyTransport app.In May, Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow said the Land Transport Authority's bus ETA system was being upgraded as part of measures to minimise a repeat of April's disruption.Inaccurate bus timings and long wait times were displayed at bus stops and on transport apps on Apr 18 after fibre network cables were damaged during construction works for the North-South Corridor project.
