The Springbok Women's next chapter will not simply be about building on a promising series against the USA Eagles; it will be about discovering how much deeper their player pool has become.
Coach Swys de Bruin has named an expanded 49-player training squad for the remainder of the international season, broadening his options ahead of a demanding programme. The schedule includes a two-Test tour to Fiji, a home Test against the Black Ferns, WXV fixtures in Europe against Wales, Italy and Spain, and concludes with two home Tests against Ireland.
Rather than making wholesale changes, the selection reflects a healthy blend of proven internationals, emerging talent, and players who have forced their way into contention through impressive domestic and international performances.
"The next phase of our preparation starts now, and we have extended invitations to some players outside of the group that did so well in Kenya and against the US," De Bruin explained.
