Springbok Women's coach Swys de Bruin has opted for a degree of consistency as he looks to develop his team's depth by naming 13 player in his matchday 23, who also participated at last year's Women's Rugby World Cup quarter-finals for Saturday's historic Test against the US at Ellis Park.

The higher-ranked Americans will provide South Africa's first major examination of the new World Cup cycle, with only wing Alichia Arries and No 8 Logan Welman coming into the starting XV after impressive performances during the team's successful Rugby Africa Women's Cup campaign.

"We always said we want to build caps," said De Bruin.

"Thirteen of the 15 players starting now played in the World Cup. We've got a couple of injuries, but it's an opportunity for new girls because we want depth and experience."
