TRAGIC DEATH: Jayden Adams

The Walter & Albertina Sisulu Foundation for Social Justice expressed its deepest sorrow, describing the deaths of Jayden Oswin Adams and Luqobo “Bibo” Makwedini as a significant loss to the nation’s collective potential.

Both athletes, who rose from local academies to represent their country on the international stage, are being celebrated for their extraordinary dedication and the profound impact they left on their respective sports.

Adams, 25, was a pioneer for the Stellenbosch Academy, becoming their first graduate to secure a professional contract. His career reached significant heights with Mamelodi Sundowns and the national team, Bafana Bafana.

The Foundation highlighted his exceptional character, particularly his decision to play for South Africa while grieving his grandmother.
