A yellow warning heat wave began in Toronto on Monday morning and is expected to stretch into the week, as Environment Canada urged people to protect themselves from the dangers of extreme heat.

Temperatures are set to peak at 37 C over the next couple days, while the minimum temperatures today are forecasted to be 20 to 24 C. The weather agency issued a yellow warning for the heat, urging Torontonians to “limit direct exposure to the sun” while also warning that the conditions could lead to the “high-risk category” of air quality.
