Devoting our energies to the well-being of others is both an honour, and a source of true nobility. The Bahá’í Writings emphasize the importance of service to humanity, affirming that “the honour and distinction of the individual” consist in being “a source of social good”.
Through serving others the essential principles of social integration – including compassion, tolerance, love, understanding, sacrifice, humility, and commitment to justice – find practical expression.
