The eyes of British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma were noticeably red as he stood in the dock at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.

British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on Monday, with visibly red eyes, as he faced a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.

The 45-year-old made his first court appearance following his arrest in Kensington, Johannesburg, on Friday.

He was arrested during a joint operation involving the South African Police Service, Interpol National Central Bureau, Crime Intelligence and the Organised Crime Investigation Unit.

A large media contingent packed the courtroom as Tshuma, dressed in a bomber jacket with his hands in his pockets.
