A fresh wave of disciplinary and security crackdowns has targeted students at Alzahra University, leaving at least 100 students facing campus bans, academic suspensions, and, in several instances, eviction from student dormitories.
According to a report published by the “United Students” Telegram channel, these punitive measures have now entered the enforcement phase following months of case-building carried out during and after the recent war. Student sources report that many individuals discovered their campus bans or academic suspensions only upon attempting to enter the university, having received no prior official notification.
The adjudication process for these disciplinary cases has lacked basic transparency. Summonses to the disciplinary committee, campus bans, and even formal suspension orders have routinely bypassed official notification channels, leaving students to learn of their status only at the university gates. Additionally, reports indicate that multiple students and their families have received threatening phone calls from unidentified numbers.
Furthermore, several dormitory residents who were banned from campus were summarily evicted from their accommodation without warning. Student activists emphasize that this rapid enforcement has effectively stripped students of their ability to pursue legal recourse, file appeals, or present a viable defence.
