Rise Mzansi condemned the sluggish rollout of mandatory lifestyle audits and re-vetting for senior officers.
RISE Mzansi says it is alarmed by delays in re-vetting and lifestyle audits for senior SAPS management, warning that internal corruption has infiltrated the highest ranks far worse than anticipated.
This was after acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia revealed that 18 out of 23 Lieutenant-Generals and 109 out 119 Major-Generals have submitted applications nationally, while the paperwork for the majority of Brigadiers is scheduled for submission this month.
At the provincial level, 68 out of 71 senior managers across all nine provinces have been referred to the State Security Agency (SSA) for processing.
Cachalia revealed this in his parliamentary response.
