Acting Police Minister Professor Firoz Cachalia provides figures of SAPS senior members that made financial disclosures and also confirmed SIU has been formally requested to second personnel to support SAPS in conducting lifestyle audits.
The SAPS has made a formal request to the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to second personnel to assist the police in conducting lifestyle audits on its senior management service (SMS) members.
Acting Minister Firoz Cachalia revealed this when he was responding to parliamentary questions from DA MP Lisa Schickerling about lifestyle audits and annual financial disclosures.
“The National Commissioner signed a formal request on 5 August 2025, which was submitted on 6 August 2025, requesting the secondment of SIU personnel to support SAPS in conducting lifestyle audits,” he said.
Cachalia also said engagement processes with the SIU have been initiated.
