The heads of the International Energy Agency (IEA), International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank Group and World Trade Organisation (WTO) have called on governments and the international community to strengthen food and energy security.
This was disclosed in a joint statement released after they met to take stock of energy, trade, and economic developments.
The meeting was part of a high-level coordination group established in April for both heads to maximize their institutions’ response to the energy, trade, and economic impact of the war in the Middle East.
They also revealed that the meeting was also to discuss the situation in vulnerable countries, and to further coordinate their support to those in need.
