Artificial Intelligence (AI) is set to play a significant role in improving women’s healthcare by enabling earlier diagnosis, better clinical decision-making, greater surgical precision and wider access to specialist care, experts said at FEHMICON 2026, a two-day academic conference organised by FehmiCare Hospital in Hyderabad.The conference, held on July 11 and 12, focused on the application of AI in obstetrics and gynaecology. It comprised a hands-on workshop at FehmiCare Hospital on the first day, followed by a national Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme.Around 50 doctors received demonstrations on AI-powered applications that can be integrated into routine clinical practice. Sessions covered clinical documentation, patient communication, research, medical education, clinical decision support and workflow management.Dr. Syed Mohammed Ghouse, Consultant Robotic and Transplant Surgeon at the Asian Institute of Nephrology and Urology, delivered the keynote address on telesurgery. Dr. L. Fahmida Banu, organising chairperson of the conference, presented sessions on current AI applications in clinical practice and its role in enhancing surgical precision, safety and outcomes.
