Marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge's legacy has been literally cemented in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

In viral photos seen by TNX Africa, organisers of the NB 42K Porto Alegre 2026 permanently immortalised the Kenyan runner by preserving his footprint at the entrance of Parque Harmonia.

The monument, unveiled during the weekend's marathon events, is a lasting tribute to Kipchoge's historic contribution to global athletics and his status as one of the greatest marathon runners of all time.

The photos showed Kipchoge, dressed in a maroon tracksuit, carefully placing his foot into wet concrete to leave the permanent imprint as officials and fans looked on.
