RIYADH: UAE low-cost carrier flydubai is set to resume flights to Aleppo after more than 14 years, launching daily direct services to the Syrian city as part of the expansion of its Syrian network.
Flights are scheduled to commence on July 20, making Aleppo flydubai’s second destination in Syria alongside the capital, Damascus, according to state news agency WAM.
This move reflects flydubai’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity with underserved markets. The airline was the first UAE carrier to resume scheduled flights to Damascus in 2025. With increasing demand on this route, flydubai has since increased services to the Syrian capital to three daily flights.
The expansion comes as Dubai strengthens its position as a global aviation hub, with Dubai International Airport serving a record 95.2 million passengers and 291 destinations in 2025 while forecasting nearly 99.5 million travelers this year.
“The launch of our daily flights to Aleppo marks a significant milestone in our network expansion strategy. Our core mission has always been to support Dubai’s position as a global aviation hub by providing direct flights to underserved markets,” flydubai CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith said.
