The Springboks’ grand plan for defending the World Cup in Australia next year received a shot in the arm when Scotland were dispatched 42- 28 by a heavily revamped Bok team at Loftus Versfeld.

The world champions had the previous week beaten England 45-21 for an emphatic start to the Nations Championship.

Coach Rassie Erasmus was understandably all smiles after his experimental team saw off the Scots.

“When you win, and you learn, it is much nicer than losing and trying to learn,” he said.
